Our Team

Robin John FCA CTA Robin qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor in 1978. He has spent most of his time since in large London accounting practices and was a tax partner in one of the big four accountants. Robin specialises in tax and heads the tax department. He also deals with tax investigations, company reconstructions, acquisitions, disposals and tax litigation. Robin is married with two children. His hobbies include skiing and travel.

Simon Spevack FCA Simon qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980 at the same London firm where he met Robin. He spent many years as a partner in a smaller London firm before setting up his own firm in 1983. Simon is a general practitioner. He also deals with audit, accounting, business development, management accounting, business acquisitions and disposals. Simon has two children. His hobbies include walking and skiing.

Andrew Brown BA Hons FCCA Andrew qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant and joined Goodmans (a predecessor firm) in 1988. He became a director in the firm in April 2002. He specialises in audit, accounting and business advice. Andrew is married with 2 children. Hobbies include close up magic, chess, and various sporting activities including volleyball and badminton.

Catherine Barnard BA Hons FCCA Catherine is both a Chartered Accountnant and a Chartered Certified Accountant and has worked with Simon since August 1997. She was made a director in the firm in 2006. She specialises in audit, accounting and business advice and is also in charge of staff training and human resources. Catherine lives locally with her husband, Matt, and young daughter, Lucy.

Simon Odam BA (Hons) ACA, CTA, FPC Simon has been with the firm for 6 years and became a director in 2006. He specialises in tax, handling various tax matters from personal taxation to VAT and corporation tax. Simon is a fitness enthusiast and also enjoys spending time with his Fiancee nad his young nephew.

Stephanie Holiday BSC (Hons) ACCA Stephanie has been working with Simon for over 11 years and joined Wellden Turnbull in 2002. She became a director in the firm in 2006. She specialises in outsourced accounting and business advice and, together with Catherine, is responsible for staff training and human resources. Outside of work Stephanie enjoys playing squash, watching football and spending time with her godchildren.

Jeremy Smith FCA, CTA – Audit Department Jeremy trained with a Central London practice before joining Wellden Turnbull in 2003. He specialises in audit and accounts. Jeremy is a keen sports fan and enjoys playing squash.

Jerry Rowe – Tax Department Jerry worked with Robin in London for many years. Previously he had been a district tax inspector, and in the International Tax Division of the Inland Revenue. Jerry specialises in corporation tax and tax investigations. Jerry is married and his hobbies include bridge, golf and foreign travel.

Sarah Stephenson LLB Hons ATT – Tax Department Sarah has worked with Simon since 1994. She specialises in personal tax and advises on complex tax for partnerships, trusts and businesses. Sarah has three children and is currently on maternity leave. Her hobbies include reading, gardening, and shopping.

Kas Girdler – Office Manager Kas is in charge of the smooth running of the office and has previously managed our amalgamations with other firms. She is responsible for the company secretarial compliance including the filing of company returns and other statutory forms on behalf of clients. She is also responsible for staff recruitment and is currently on maternity leave. Kas is married and outside of work she enjoys being a mum to her son and new daughter Lilly.
